Wireless Spectrophotometer
A wireless or USB spectrophotometer that records a full spectrum of absorbance, percent transmittance or intensity in under a second. Its low light path allows microscale and biochemistry work with micro and semi-micro cuvettes, and it supports fluorescence. It works with compatible graphing and analysis software that offers live data sharing for demonstrations, bar graphs, histograms, FFTs and categorical plots, synchronised video replay, a library of more than 45 ready-made sample experiments and user-defined curve fits, suiting both classroom and remote learning. A long-life rechargeable battery keeps it ready for wireless use, its charge can be checked in the app, and it connects through a USB cable or wirelessly with nothing else to buy. Specifications: wavelength range 380–950 nm; two fluorescence excitation sources centred at 405 nm and 500 nm; about 1 nm between reported values (570 values); optical resolution (FWHM) 4.0–5.0 nm; 15 x 9 x 4 cm; no external power needed; typical scan time about 2 s. Included: 15 plastic cuvettes with lids, a mini USB cable and a power supply.
