Wireless Conductivity Probe
A wireless conductivity probe that finds the ionic content of a water-based solution from how well it conducts electricity. A built-in temperature sensor reads temperature at the same time, and automatic temperature compensation lets students calibrate indoors and measure outdoors without temperature affecting results; it can be switched off to study conductivity against temperature. Alternating current at the electrodes prevents polarisation and electrolysis, reducing contamination, and the graphite electrodes in an ABS body resist the corrosion common in metal electrodes. It works with compatible graphing and analysis software that offers live data sharing for demonstrations, bar graphs, histograms, FFTs and categorical plots, synchronised video replay, a library of more than 45 ready-made sample experiments and user-defined curve fits, suiting both classroom and remote learning. A long-life rechargeable battery keeps it ready for wireless use, its charge can be checked in the app, and it connects through a USB cable or wirelessly with nothing else to buy. Specifications: range 0–20,000 µS/cm (0–10,000 mg/L TDS); accuracy with factory calibration ±1% of full scale (1–10,000 µS/cm); automatic temperature compensation 5–35 °C, switchable off; can be placed in liquids from 0 to 80 °C; cell constant 1.0 cm⁻¹; resolution 0.01 µS/cm; parallel graphite electrodes in an ABS body; 12 mm diameter and 120 mm long. Included: micro USB cable.
