Wireless EKG Sensor
A wireless EKG sensor that records the heart's electrical activity and the signals produced when muscles contract. Being wireless, it avoids tangled cables during experiments. It has two outputs, one optimised for standard 3-lead EKG traces and one for surface EMG, which it can also rectify automatically. It works with compatible graphing and analysis software that offers live data sharing for demonstrations, bar graphs, histograms, FFTs and categorical plots, synchronised video replay, a library of more than 45 ready-made sample experiments and user-defined curve fits, suiting both classroom and remote learning. A long-life rechargeable battery keeps it ready for wireless use, its charge can be checked in the app, and it connects through a USB cable or wirelessly with nothing else to buy. Specifications: range ±200 mV; resolution 0.024 µV; maximum sampling rate 400 samples/s; EKG channel high-pass 0.300 Hz and low-pass 22.5 Hz (−3 dB cutoff, −80 dB above 50 Hz); heart rate calculated over a 6 s window advancing every 1 s. Included: 100 disposable electrodes and a micro USB cable.
