AT-5000 Autotronics Workstation
An automotive electronics (autotronics) training workstation that houses five plug-in simulator modules, sold separately; at least one module is required. Software assigns what each rotary knob does to suit each lesson, and a virtual multimeter and oscilloscope on the LCD monitor give realistic diagnostic measurements. Available modules: multipoint fuel injection (MAP and MAF sensors, motorised throttle, injectors, DIS ignition coils, Hall-effect camshaft and accelerator position sensors, inductive crankshaft sensor, knock sensor and engine ECU), emission control (fuel tank, pump and filters, variable valve timing, front and rear O₂ sensors, carbon canister and purge valve, exhaust gas temperature sensor, exhaust gas analysers and three-way catalytic converters), airbag systems (airbag construction, pyrotechnic seatbelt actuation, airbag ECU, accelerometers, dual-detonator driver and passenger airbags, knee and curtain airbags, side impact sensor and passenger deactivation switches), electronic stability (wheel speed, yaw rate, optical steering angle, brake pressure and throttle position sensors, brake pedal switch and the ESP hydraulic control module) and hybrid vehicle systems (nickel-metal battery behaviour, charging and engine starting with motor-generator 1, driving and regenerative braking with motor-generator 2, DC-DC booster, DC to three-phase AC variable-frequency inverter, 12 V accessory converter, current sensors and hybrid ECU). Each includes troubleshooting exercises and interactive courseware with theory, simulations and guided, diagnostic and self-assessment exercises.
